A warm, humorous, active, German family of four is seeking a full-time, live-out nanny for their two daughters, ages 3 and 5 in Brooklyn. The schedule will be 12-8pm, 40 hours a week, with flexibility to work a full day in the event of illness or day-off of school.
The ideal nanny is someone who is active, and encourages imagination, independence, and free play with safe limits. Nanny will be responsible for full care related to children including laundry, meal preparation, transportation home from school and activities via walking or subway, playdates and organizing activities, and helping keep on top of the tidiness of kitchen.
Nanny MUST...
- be legal to work in the USA for at least one year
- be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Pass a criminal, state, and county background check with employment and degree verification
- hold a valid CPR/First Aid certification or will renew
- have three professional references in childcare
- have 2 years of recent experience working with children
- have flexibility in your schedule to come in early if the children are sick, and work the school's days-off
- be reliable, organized, and timely
- have a warm, calm, and stable disposition, able to allow exploration and facilitate learning through play, encouraging independence
- be responsible for planning some activities, as well as daily maintenance cleaning of children's areas, toys, and the dishes
- be cooperative and work together as a team, and give and receive new ideas and approaches
- have impeccable communication skills, and understand the unique relationship of private care in someone's home
Salary is $700-900/week for 40 hours, DOE, plus excellent 3-weeks paid vacation, holidays, and sick time.
